Brother identifies this exact model as the SP1 Sublimation Printer. Its U.S. product page describes Artspira-based projects for shirts, totes, ceramic mugs, metal tumblers, and coasters. These examples describe Brother's app workflow; they do not establish that every blank or press is compatible with the SP1.
What Brother documents
Brother's product highlights and carton-contents table list four full-size inks and ten sample sheets of sublimation paper in the package. A separate “Get Started Right Out of the Box” paragraph calls the paper “a couple of sheets.” The structured headline and contents table support ten sheets, while the page's narrative disagrees. Brother's carton table identifies the included sample paper as SP01PLS. Its separate U.S. consumables listing identifies compatible retail paper SKU SP01PL as Letter size, approximately 8.5 × 11 inches, in a 100-sheet pack. Keep those two paper SKUs distinct.
Brother lists four 47 mL CMYK cartridges: SP01BKS black, SP01CS cyan, SP01MS magenta, and SP01YS yellow. The product page gives unit dimensions of 17.1 × 13.5 × 6.2 inches (width × depth × height). Those listed dimensions help with a shelf or work-surface check, but they do not include operating clearance. Brother's sources establish one compatible retail paper format, Letter size, but do not establish the printer's maximum sheet size, printable image area, paper-loading options, or operating-system requirements. If a project needs a known printable area or a feed path beyond the listed Letter paper, check the current SP1 manual and support details before deciding.
Who may consider it
The documented package and Artspira project examples may suit someone who wants a Brother-named craft workflow and initial supplies in the box. Brother also lists a 2 Year Limited Warranty & Replacement Service; review the linked warranty terms for coverage and conditions. The compatible SP01PL retail paper is Letter size, but sources do not establish maximum media size or printable bounds. Compare the SP1's documented package with other source-backed systems in the sublimation printer guide; use the setup finder to assemble a compatible printer and press shortlist once the relevant equipment records are available.
The design-size helper converts dimensions you enter to a pixel canvas. It does not determine SP1 margins or a blank's usable area. The printer settings guide covers the exact software, media, and driver information still needed for a planned setup.
Check the Brother listing
Brother's U.S. page displayed US$379.99, with US$429.99 shown as the original price, when checked on 2026-09-22. The purchase area exposed an Add to Cart control but no explicit in-stock or sold-out state, so availability is unknown. This is a dated page observation, not a promise of current price or inventory. The reviewed sources do not provide comparable ink yield, cost per transfer, print speed, independent quality results, or long-term reliability, and no hands-on test is claimed here. Check Brother's SP1 page for current purchase details.
